Vintage Wedding Styled Shoot with Convertible Getaway Car

As an intimate wedding and elopement photographer, sometimes it’s fun to throw all the rules out the window and plan a styled shoot. Planning a photo session where I can let loose with my creativity and experiment with different styles, lighting and techniques is oftentimes just what’s needed to help me go into my future weddings and elopements with a fresh perspective and lots of new ideas.

For this styled shoot, I had a vision of an elegant, retro-themed elopement complete with a short wedding dress and convertible getaway car. I teamed up with some of the best wedding vendors in Arizona to bring this styled shoot to life and can I just say, the results were simply stunning!

The theme of this shoot was colorful retro vibes and the classic Arizona desert provided the perfect backdrop! I chose The Willow as our venue as their outdoor space provides the perfect scenery for a small intimate wedding or elopement in the desert!

Nowadays, I feel like many couples gravitate towards neutral colors for their wedding (which, don’t get me wrong, is absolutely beautiful) but I wanted to play around and add more color to the setting! Lace and a Barn understood my vision perfectly and brought beautiful floral arrangements with the most stunning color combinations in various shades of pinks, reds, purples, and whites!

I'm all about going against tradition which is one of the reasons why I loved this short puff sleeve dress from JJP Dress Rentals. I styled the dress with a vintage-styled pearl headband, a dramatic cathedral pearl veil, and retro white sunglasses to match the theme. Probably my favorite accessory was the long dramatic veil. There's something about a short dress with a long veil that I just love, don’t you agree? Ideal Bridal AZ completed the look with her flawless retro-style hair and makeup artistry.

The star of the show was the vintage white convertible from Wedding Whips. I was obsessed with the getaway car feel to the shoot and it tied in all the details perfectly!

Of course, this elopement styled shoot would not have been possible without my beautiful models, Katherine and CJ.. These two were actually one of my real couples and I had the privilege of shooting their wedding last year!! Getting to spend the day with them was extra special because it was actually one of their last days in Arizona. They started making the big move to Nashville just a few days after this shoot took place so I loved getting to see them again before their move!!
