Rasa + Ben | Stunning Jewish + Persian Wedding with String Lights Wedding Reception

Some couples are simply meant to be together, and Rasa and Ben are no exception! These two are passionate about everything life has to offer, and they have many interests in common, such as ethnic food, road trips while binging crime podcasts, and picnics with Ike's sandwiches. They firmly believe in Thoreau's call to "live deeply and suck the marrow out of life", a motto they strive to live out every day!

When they first met, Ben and Rasa were both attending medical school in southern California. As fate would have it,  Rasa's roommate shared a class with Ben and soon, their social circles began to overlap. After a few months, they finally met in person, though the exact timing depends entirely on who you ask. According to Ben, the first time he and Rasa met was at a graduate school social event in downtown Los Angeles. He must not have made much of an impression at the time because, according to Rasa, they first met in the Spring of 2016 while attending a concert by one of their mutual favorite artists, Jamie xx. That night at the concert, their connection was instant. They quickly began a relationship with a little encouragement from their friends, but it wasn't without its challenges. Ben and Rasa had both decided to pursue medical research outside of the country that summer, leaving them with little time to pursue a new relationship. They had approximately 30 days in LA  to spend time together and get to know each other more - a period they now refer to as the "30 Days of Summer." If you ask Rasa or Ben, they will both tell you that they fell in love during these 30 days. That time together made their hearts inseparable, allowing them to weather any challenge or obstacle they faced.

Rasa and Ben's wedding day vision was a beautiful blend of their Persian and Jewish cultures. They wanted a day that honored both of their cultures and included a variety of things that reflected them as individuals and as a couple. I LOVE it when couples incorporate their cultures into their wedding day, and I couldn't wait to see Rasa and Ben's vision come true! They had a traditional Western American ceremony (including the breaking of the glass), followed by a Sofreh Aghd (Persian ceremony), and the Hora chair (Jewish tradition) during the reception! Their reception took place in a twinkle tent, which was also the largest light tent ever set up in Arizona! It was a beautiful night under the stars that looked like it came straight out of a movie! The magic didn’t stop with the decorations though! Rasa wore a stunning Rita Vinieris dress that had wings…need I say more?

I will never forget Ben and Rasa's Jewish + Persian wedding. I felt an instant connection with them the moment I met them, and their love and kindness were evident throughout the day. Congratulations, Ben and Rasa! Wishing many years of love and happiness to you both!
