Zulema + Justin | Romantic Austin Wedding at The Ice Plant Bldg

One of my favorite things about being a destination wedding photographer is getting to travel and photograph weddings in different states. I still get amazed and am so honored that couples trust me enough to fly around the world to photograph their love! For Zulema and Justin’s wedding, they brought me to Austin, Texas. Their day was the perfect blend of modern and romantic and I even got to reconnect with some familiar faces, but more on that later.

Zulema and Justin first met at a mutual friend’s birthday party in 2011. Justin’s first impression of Zulema was that she is beautiful and had a small-town charm about her. She was down-to-earth and easy to talk to and the two spent the night laughing and having fun. Zulema remembers immediately wanting to get to know Justin and soon after the birthday party, she got her wish! They spent a weekend together with friends, partying and learning more about each other. After that weekend the rest, as they say, is history. These two have been together ever since and have celebrated so many “firsts” together like buying their first house and adopting their first pet!

Zulema and Justin got married at The Ice Plant Bldg, a rustic Austin wedding venue. I absolutely LOVED this venue and how minimal it was. The bridal suite was an absolute dream with its giant mirror and sleek bathtub (which we obviously used for portrait photos of the bride and groom later on!) The whole venue gave off a minimal but elegant vibe with its concrete walls and antique chandeliers. It truly was the perfect wedding venue for this rustic-modern Texas wedding!

This wedding was so special to me because Zulema's brother, Richard, was a groom at one of my previous weddings and one of her bridesmaids, Kathy, was the bride! Richard and Kathy got married in 2019 and it's been so fun being able to be a part of so many big family events ever since. At Zulema and Justin’s wedding, I got to see the same family members and friends from the 2019 wedding which was so fun!

Zulema and Justin, your wedding was absolutely perfect in every way and was a beautiful reflection of your love for each other. Thank you for letting me be a small part of it! Congratulations!!!
