Alexa + Josh | Backyard Boho Wedding

I think each and every one of my couples has a beautiful love story and I love hearing how my all brides met their perfect match, but every once in a while, there will be something in a couple’s story that just leaves me with chills. The two people I will introduce you to today, Alexa and Josh, are one of those couples.

Alexa and Josh were both diagnosed with multiple sclerosis as teenagers and after many years of not responding to traditional medications, they both enrolled in a clinical trial for a bone marrow transplant in Chicago. They were the only two that were of similar age and spent a lot of time bonding during their time there. After the clinical trial was done, they started a long distance relationship (Alexa is from Las Vegas, Josh is from Arizona) and eventually purchased a house together in AZ. Josh proposed in the living room of that same house once it was complete. Doesn’t that story just leave you speechless? They both overcame so much at an early age and found each other right when they needed to. Incredible.

Alexa and Josh had an intimate vintage, boho, backyard wedding that was absolutely gorgeous. Alexa planned the entire thing herself and had such unique, fun details like a teepee, a live painter, and the cutest mint green vintage car. She walked down the aisle in a stunning long sleeved lace dress, and her bridesmaids wore dresses in the most gorgeous, rich shade of orange. After the ceremony, the bride and groom danced the night away, surrounded by the people who loved them most in the entire world. And no matter what happens leading up to a wedding, isn’t that what’s most important?
