Rachel + Lauren | Cozy In Home Session

My job is pretty straightforward: I’m a photographer, and I capture people’s love stories. Proposals, engagements, weddings...capturing love is my absolute favorite thing to do. But a love story doesn’t stop after the wedding day is done. Quite the opposite, actually. The wedding day is just the beginning. The little details of life after the wedding day, like having coffee together before work, the fights over unfolded laundry,  or binging a show at the end of a long day, those are the things that breathe life into a couple’s marriage. 

That’s why I was so excited to capture Rachel and Lauren for this session. This one was a little unique; this was not an engagement session or a wedding. Rachel and Lauren are moving from Arizona to San Diego, and they asked me to capture their life in their home because they love it so much and their feelings about moving are so bittersweet.

In home sessions are my absolute favorite because I feel like I get to know my couples really well, really quickly. Genuine, authentic, fun personalities come out when clients are in their homes. Being in such a happy, safe environment really brings out the best in everyone, and I’m sure you can see that in Rachel and Lauren through these photos. We went from room to room and I got to capture their deep, wild love for each other in the perfect setting. They even brought in their doodle, Milo, for his own chance to shine.
