Kimberly + Dillon | Flagstaff Forest Wedding
I’ve been doing this for a while now, and it is just crazy to me how shooting mountain weddings never get old. When my couples are adventurous and outdoorsy, the mountains serve as the perfect background for a bride and groom; it showcases their wild love perfectly, and it’s obvious that they feel right at home. The couple I’m going to introduce you to today, Kimberly and Dillon, are exactly like this. They love hiking, kayaking, and getting outside, and they call Flagstaff, AZ (which is a town nestled right in the mountains) home. They even had a wedding cake made to look like an aspen tree.
Like every other couple planning a wedding at this time, their plans got a major overhaul due to the coronavirus pandemic. They called off their big wedding to have a small elopement instead, then planned to have their big wedding day on September 5th with a much smaller number of people than originally planned. It’s so hard to know that there are people that you wanted to share in this moment that weren’t able to be there, but also I think there’s a silver lining in all of this madness: these couples are starting off their marriage learning how to be flexible, adaptable, and overcome challenges they never expected. I can’t think of a better foundation to build a marriage on.
Kimberly & Dillon chose ivory, sage, and hints of gold as their wedding colors, which perfectly matched the forest scenery. Kimberly was stunning in an intricately detailed lace wedding dress, and the trees served as the perfect backdrop for the gorgeous wedding party. It was a gorgeously intimate wedding for a stunning couple, and I am so honored to have been able to capture it. Congratulations Kimberly and Dillon! Thank you for letting me capture your special day!
