Asal + Andrei | Sedona Red Rock Wedding

It’s so easy to focus on what’s difficult and what’s different in this season. Trips have been cancelled, we haven’t been able to see some of our friends and family members for months, and a lot of what we’re used to doing isn’t possible anymore. For my brides who were and are planning weddings, it’s even more true. The dream weddings that so many couples were planning are no longer a possibility.

It’s so difficult and it’s absolutely appropriate to mourn the loss of that. However, to me, there is a tiny silver lining that peeks through. The shift that brides have made to small “microweddings” and elopements has made for some really incredible, cozy, intimate weddings where the emotion and the love can really be felt. I think that when some of the pressure that comes with a wedding is stripped away, the spotlight becomes focused solely on the love between two people and their commitment to one another. It’s so beautiful, and for me, it’s a bright spot in the midst of an otherwise uncertain time.

This was completely true for Asal & Andrei. Asal and Andrei were middle school sweethearts who got married on their 10 years together anniversary. I’m sure during the duration of their relationship, they never imagined getting married in a pandemic; however, their intimate ceremony at an airbnb with their closest friends and family was so incredibly moving and beautiful.

Their personalities are perfectly paired, with Asal liking everything orderly and organized, while Andrei is more of a relaxed, go with the flow type of guy. They relied enormously on family to plan their day and to put everything together, which made their wedding day even more special. Asal wore a stunning, elegant lace gown for her walk down the aisle, and after the ceremony, we went on a short hike to get some incredible pictures against the gorgeous Sedona landscape.

Asal & Andrei, your wedding was gorgeous and I can’t think of a better way to tie a bow on a decade of love and laughter together. I wish you both many more wonderful decades together, and I’m so honored to have witnessed your special day. Congratulations!
