Madison + Alec | Mogollon Rim Payson Engagement

Ahhh, love in the time of COVID. In the past six months, my poor brides have had to navigate so much, like rescheduling venues and vendors, figuring out how many of their friends and family could be there to witness their wedding, creating Zoom links to put on wedding invitations. But one thing hasn’t changed: love and marriage is still just as wonderful as it ever was, and my couples are still just as stunning.

Take Madison & Alec, for example. I had the pleasure of taking Madison’s senior photos a couple years ago (which Alec joined in on) and I was so, so excited to get to take her engagement photos! We headed to Payson (thankfully being outdoors is one of the few things we can still do in the time of COVID) and got the most amazing shots of this beautiful couple by Woods Canyon Lake & the Mogollon Rim. 

We started out their engagement session at the lake. It’s super fun to do sessions by the water, because when my couples are willing to get in (and even splash around a little) it can add a little extra element of drama or fun to their photos. After that, we went to Mogollon Rim at sunset to take advantage of the stunning views at golden hour.

Planning a wedding during a pandemic can be so discouraging and disheartening, I know. Please just remember that the most important thing is honoring and celebrating the love between both of you, and that is something that no sickness can ever take away. Sometimes, there are even ways to embrace what’s happening, even if it’s less than ideal. Check out Madison’s & Alec’s kissing mask photo:
