Kathy + Richard | The Paseo Wedding
If I had a dollar for every time I heard the phrase, “you should marry your best friend” I’d never need to work again (I mean, I still would because I have the best job in the world, but still). However, when I witness couples like Kathy and Richard, I’m reminded of how important it really is to feel like your partner is your best friend. Going through life knowing that someone has your back and will always affirm the best in you is the most incredible blessing, and it’s clear that Kathy and Richard have this kind of relationship.
Kathy and Richard met through mutual friends when they were both at a birthday party at Dave and Buster’s (I like to imagine “Quit Playing Games With My Heart” by the Backstreet Boys was playing at the time), and they had so much fun together they went dancing after the party. Richard asked for Kathy’s number, and seven years later (to the day!), he asked her to marry him at the top of a mountain. Incredible.
One of the most ironic things about Kathy and Richard was that they emphasized how much they don’t like being the center of attention and how they’d rather be in the background, yet they planned the most stunning wedding that showed off how incredible and beautiful they are. Seriously, their wedding was A DREAM. Everything was beautiful and their ring bearer was their dog, Nala, which was of course my favorite thing because I am 100% obsessed with dogs. All of the details, like the backdrop of the Superstition mountains, the seating chart, the sweetheart table, and the cake table with the 'treat yo self' sign, just made this wedding absolutely breathtaking. Seriously guys, if you didn’t want to be noticed, you should have made your wedding way less amazing. All of the gorgeous details it just highlighted the beauty of you and your marriage.
Kathy and Richard, I know you will spend the rest of your lives happily watching documentaries, going on hikes, and trying all the best restaurants together. Your wedding was spectacular, and Kathy, you were the most gorgeous bride. I am so thankful you chose me to capture your special day. Congratulations!!!
