Jordan + David | Classic Rock Themed Non-Traditional Wedding in Illinois
I completely believe in fate and that everything happens for a reason. How I met Jordan is a perfect example of this! Back in 2017 when my husband (then fiance) and I were planning our wedding, we met Jordan during a tour of our wedding venue! We stayed in touch after that and she has been a huge supporter of me and my business ever since! Last year it was Jordan’s turn to marry and I had the joy of photographing her and David’s wedding in Illinois. It was so special to witness and reminded me why I am truly grateful for this job of mine!
Jordan and David met in an Illinois dive bar over a game of pool and a couple of $1 Bud Lights. It was love at first sight, and that night (while the drinks were flowing), David told Jordan that he lived in Arizona, to which Jordan replied that a psychic had once predicted that she would move to Arizona (see what I mean by fate?) After that night at the bar, the couple dated long distance for a year before Jordan moved to Arizona as predicted by the psychic.
Jordan and David got engaged while unwrapping gifts on Christmas. Jordan thought she had outdone herself with a new laptop for David that year, but little did she know, David had something else up his sleeve. Jordan's turn came after David's underwhelming response to his gift. The words "WILL YOUR MARRY ME?" appeared after digging through a lot of bubble wrap and assembling color-coordinated letters. There was much kissing and crying, as well as a resounding YES!
Jordan and David planned a classic rock-themed wedding at Company 251 in Aurora, Illinois, and included several meaningful details that made their wedding day unique. Music is an important part of their relationship, and they've attended dozens of concerts together, so a classic rock theme was perfect for their non-traditional wedding vibe! The theme was carried throughout the day, with escort cards, tables named after artists and bands, records for each guest table to sign, and tambourines instead of bouquets for the bridesmaids. They even did a choreographed dance to "Sauvamente" at the end of the night, and the guests went crazy! One of my favorite non-traditional wedding details they included was a pool table at the venue to commemorate the first night they met at the dive bar (how adorable is that?). The entire wedding was thoughtfully planned and full of cool, edgy details with a retro vibe.
Jordan wore a stunning lace gown with a v-back, while David wore an all-black suit ensemble that perfectly complemented the modern, non-traditional wedding vibe! Sammy, their dog, was also present that day and even made an appearance down the aisle!
Jordan and David, your wedding day was breathtakingly beautiful. Your love and friendship are seriously unrivaled! I am honored to have been a part of your special day, and I wish you both decades of happiness!
